Can I choose my home health care provider?

Yes, you may choose your home health care provider(s) once your doctor has decided you require one (or more). However, each one must meet and be approved by Medicare’s quality standards. Your home health provider must also take care of all home care you require, including medical supplies and personnel. The provider may fill your needs through its own agency or by hiring other individuals. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you may be required to use a designated home health agency.
