Humana handles any Medicare coverage needed, from a plan that only covers prescriptions to a comprehensive Medicare Advantage plan and they take care of those who become eligible for Medicaid in other ways, other than turning 65-years-old. The enrollment period is crucial to many individuals and Humana makes those windows of opportunity clear to those needing that information. Annual enrollment is Octber 15th through to December 7th and this lets subscribers make changes to their plans, change plans or enrol in a new one. The disenrollment period for those with Medicare Advantage is January 1 through to February 14th and subscribers may revert to original Medicare benefits and/or enrol in a stand-alone prescription drug plan.

From February 15th to October 14th anyone on a plan may not switch coverage, a block of time often referred to as the lock-in period. The exception is qualification under special enrollment circumstances, such as you entered a nursing facility, are disenrolling from a work group health plan or were enrolled in a plan and just moved.
