Think about what you want in terms of health insurance plans

Despite what people think, there are low cost health insurance plans for those that work at home and those without jobs.

It is possible to get a low cost health insurance plan, and anyone that told you otherwise was mistaken. There are health insurance plans that suit the needs and the budgets of out-of-work Americans and Americans who work out of their homes. With determination and patience, you can find exactly what you need, at a reasonable price.

No one says you have to have all the bells and whistles, but it only makes sense to have a good, solid, basic health insurance plan in place for those “what if” moments in life that happen all the time without warning. Yes, there are millions out-of-work right now that are frightened to think they have no coverage and dread what would happen financially if they needed medical care. They feel they cannot afford to pay for it, since they have little or nothing coming in.

While that is an understandable point of view, it is also largely based on the false premise that there is no such thing as affordable health insurance plans. In direct contradiction to that myth, there are low cost plans available for those willing to search for them. Additionally, it is better to get a plan now, rather than wait for 2014 when no one really knows for sure what the price of health insurance will be. Now, it is fairly competitive and you stand a chance of it staying that way if you buy now.

Come 2014, you may pay less or you may pay more, and you may pay less to start, but have the price jacked up over time. If you want some control over what you get, now is the time to go online and start looking. In the long run, it is better to be covered than not, as not being insured guarantees you staggering medical bills, even for the smallest of procedures.

If you are ever in an accident and need to be in hospital, your bill could run into the thousands. Add in surgery, and it goes up even more. Do you want to live life on the edge, without health insurance, wondering when something is going to happen that would wipe you out financially? Most people would prefer the safety net of health insurance rather than a bill collector for the medical bills you cannot pay in the foreseeable future.

Health insurance quotes are as important as car insurance quotes

Is it odd that health insurance quotes are just as vital as car insurance quotes? Your health is as important as your car.

It makes sense to most Americans that they need to get a car insurance quote, but oddly, they think health insurance quotes are not necessary. Nothing could be further from the truth. Both types of insurance are important, but health insurance will save your life. Think you can’t afford health insurance? The honest truth is you cannot afford to “not” have it. If something happens, like a car accident, and you have no insurance, you are stuck with the bills. Could you pay them? Many people could not.

Some feel there is no such thing as affordable health insurance and that spending time looking for health insurance quotes is useless. This is a misconception, largely because the industry is quite competitive right now and there are good deals to be found online. Why not try it out and see for yourself? Your health and the health of your family are vitally important. Keep yourself, and them, safe by having a bird in hand when the chips are down and you need expensive medical care.

If you get why you need car insurance, you should get why health insurance is just as important. Take a look around and start doing some online health insurance cost comparisons. You will be surprised at what you may find. It takes some patience to search out what you want, but it is out there. In fact, there are so many different policies, you might get confused. Here is a tip to avoid confusion. Write out a list of precisely what you want and need; in detail. The more you already know and have written down about your needs, the easier it is to find an insurance policy to suits those needs.

No one says you have to go it alone and try to find a policy that works. That is what insurance agents are for, and their advice is free. They are not there to shove a policy down your throat, because they know, as well as you do, that you would not renew and would spread the word. Their aim is to help you select what works for your lifestyle, making you a happy and well covered customer.

Additionally, if you know what you want, you do not end up paying for something you do not need and will not use. It’s your health, your life, your choice and your preferences when it comes to choosing a health insurance policy that honestly works for you when you need it.

Health insurance plans are your lifeline for the future

Many Americans do not have health insurance. They feel they cannot afford it.

Perhaps there is indeed some truth to the fact that many Americans cannot afford monthly insurance premiums. At least, from their point of view, they do not have the extra funds to pay for health insurance plans. While it is an understandable dilemma, the bigger picture is this: without health insurance, you will have to pay a huge medical bill if you need care and do not have health insurance.

So, the question then becomes, “What would you rather have happen? Scrimp a bit to pay a monthly premium and have medical bills covered, or get a bill from the E.R. for setting a broken wrist, which runs about $20,000 or more?” Most people would be horrified to get a bill that large. If they have to stay in a hospital overnight, or require surgery, that bill is even higher. How would they pay for it?

The answer to that question is they would not be able to pay it, and in addition to their usual monthly financial obligations, they would be saddled with a bill that may take years to pay off. Some find themselves in the situation of having to declare bankruptcy as a result of medical bills. Most of those kinds of situations are avoidable by having even a basic health insurance plan.

Now is the time to line up health insurance plans for the whole family, before you are fined for not being covered. It is also a smart time to source your health insurance, as you have the ability to pick and choose what you really need and what works for you, even if it is a very basic policy.

Any coverage is, at times, better than none. Mind you, that largely depends on what coverage you choose, and that choice is up to you. You would, of course, opt for coverage that best reflects your needs and not pay for things you would not need. That is then what you pay for, rather than trying to figure out how on earth you pay a medical bill so high, you would never make that much in two years.

If you already have insurance, then do you know if it is doing a good job for you? Here’s how to tell if it is not doing a good job. Your doctor’s office has hinted they won’t be using your insurer in the future, other people have sued the insurance company for fraud, they won’t let you raise your deductible to bring down your monthly premium, and prescription drugs are not covered.

The most frustrating spot to be in though is when trying to file a claim and you can’t get anyone on the phone and get stalled, and no one answers your questions when you email. It’s time to start looking around for another insurer.

Affordable health insurance is best found by sourcing quotes for yourself

If you’re searching for affordable health insurance, do it for yourself.

These days, less than 25 percent of the population gets health insurance through their employers. If your employer does offer health insurance, you get what you get and at a price dictated by the company. Although it is a benefit to you, you may be paying for things you do not need or use. You may well be able to find health insurance for less by looking around. In other words, by opting to get your own individual plan, you may pay less.

Health insurance through a company means you are lumped, as one large group, with everyone else in the company. That will often include overweight individuals, smokers and those with serious illnesses. While that is life, you are paying for that. If you are in pretty good shape, and younger, looking around for affordable health insurance quotes makes sense. You could actually get a lot more insurance tailored to your needs for less.

What’s the best place to look for insurance quotes? You guessed it. Online. The coverage you find there is similar to what your employer may be offering, but the price is typically less. Additionally, you have a choice of insurance providers, deductibles and so forth. If you need something to fit your lifestyle and budget, you’ll find it online quickly.

Having your own health insurance means that no matter where you go if you change jobs, you still have insurance. Considering today’s shaky economy, it’s a good thing to have portable health insurance, as people are changing jobs at an ever increasing pace. You certainly do not want to be without health insurance, not when it means facing enormous medical bills that you would have no way of being able to pay.

While many Americans have opted out of having health insurance because they cannot afford it, the truth of the matter is that they cannot afford “not” to have it. The first time they need to see a doctor or go to emergency for a broken bone, they will end up facing a real dilemma —- how to pay for the care. Additionally, by 2014, you will be required to have coverage. Why not get it now while you have some choices available?

Affordable Health Insurance Quotes are Available Now

Take advantage of affordable health insurance quotes now, before 2014.

Anticipation is running high for more changes to the health care system in 2014. People are beginning to realize that if they don’t get insurance now, then they will have to get insurance, or else they will be fined. What a conundrum. Is there any way around it? Yes, go online now and check out the affordable health insurance quotes that are available. It’s best to act now, as no one knows for sure what the prices will be like in 2014.
The chance that policies will be higher in 2014 is quite likely, simply based on the fact that insurance companies have been told they may not refuse to insure anyone, even those with pre-existing conditions. Since insurance companies are businesses, they want to make money to cover the risks associated with insuring high risk people. That generally means higher priced premiums. Act now to find affordable health insurance quotes and get a policy in place to beat the last minute rush.

The bottom line in health care these days is you need to have health insurance – now or later. There is no other sensible choice. Without health insurance, you will be dinged to pay the enormous bill you incurred for medical services rendered without the benefit of health insurance. Do you have over $100,000 for heart surgery? More than $30,000 for a broken leg or arm? $15,000 or more for a two-day stay in hospital for pneumonia? You get the picture. No insurance, no one to help pay the bill. With insurance, you have help. It’s pretty straightforward.

Some type of health insurance is necessary, whether it is basic coverage or a deluxe plan that covers just about everything. In other words, the choice is up to you to take advantage of the best options that suit your lifestyle. There are many ways to reduce the cost of your premiums, like increasing the deductible. Ask your insurance agent about how to save money on health insurance. They get asked that all the time, and have no issues letting you know what you can do to save money.

The most important thing is that you start now to search for affordable health insurance quotes. It only takes a few minutes of your time, and may be done in the comfort of your own home. Right now, there are a number of really good deals and the competition in the insurance industry is to your advantage. Get a deal now, rather than take a chance that later there are no deals and you get what you get.

Health Insurance Quotes Will Go Up Under the Affordable Care Act

by: Clelland Green

There are three key pieces of the Affordable Care Act which will cause health insurance premiums to rise faster than they would otherwise.

  1. Guaranteed Issue – The mandate will ease this expense, but providing everyone coverage regardless of their health will cause premiums for people who are healthy and presently buy their own insurance to skyrocket. This impact will be felt in the individual and small group markets and not in the large group market.
  2. More Demand without An Increase in Supply – If you significantly increase demand for any service or product and you do not have a corresponding increase in supply, prices will rise. If 30 million more people obtain health insurance (current CBO estimate is between 30 and 33 million by 2016) that will cause an increase in health care demand of at least 5% and possibly more. Most of this increase will come from the expansion of Medicaid which will create supply shortages throughout the country and will be felt particularly hard in urban areas. The result of this expansion will be further cost shifting to private insurance as Medicaid reimbursement rates are significantly below market rates – even heavily discounted market rates. Bottom line, doctors and hospitals will charge private plans more and the premiums for those plans will rise.
  3. Minimum Coverage – Currently people buy high deductible plans and other health insurance products where the benefits are limited in such a way as to provide an affordable plan. Exchange based plans do not have those features. Aetna’s CEO Mark T. Bertolini gave the WSJ’s health blogan example of a 40 year old Texan currently buying a $5000 deductible policy is paying $189/month and the cheapest exchange plan will cost him more than $450/month. The $3000 premium difference more than offsets the higher out of pocket expenses of the cheaper plan, which are not $3000 more than the bronze plan.

While these provisions may be popular, they are going to have a significant impact on the lives of middle class Americans who desparately need reform that will help control the cost curve.

There are a Wide Variety of Health Insurance Plans on the Market These Days

There is a health insurance plan on the market for everyone today. You just need to look for it.

Living in today’s high technology world is stressful. The economy is bad. People are unemployed in large numbers. The environment is doing odd things. The health care system is overloaded. Add this all together with just trying to live, and you get health problems. If you don’t have a health insurance plan to protect you, even if you are out of a job, you will be saddled with a huge medical bill when you need to see a doctor. That is a fact. It’s time to research health insurance plans.

At one time, the company you worked for or even the government offered health insurance plans. Not so much now, for the simple reason that they have become too expensive for employers. If an employer does keep a health insurance plan as a benefit for employees, the bulk of the costs are passed to the workers. They want to reduce their operating overhead by passing the buck – literally. As unfair as that might be, this still means you are in a situation where you need health insurance, or go bankrupt attempting to pay medical bills incurred for a sudden medical crisis you did not expect.

Put this into perspective. In a nutshell, those without health insurance these days can ill-afford to get sick. The catastrophic consequences of their illness, broken bone, surgery or other care, would put them in a desperate financial bind, with very few ways out, other than declaring personal bankruptcy. This is where choice hits the road. You choose to be well and carry health insurance, even on a strict budget, or you don’t buy health insurance figuring you will save money. You won’t save money, not when your medical bill for a broken wrist comes to well over $20,000.

Know what health conditions you and your family have before searching for a health insurance plan that suits your circumstances. Write everything out if you need to, and cross check your list with the information you find on the Internet. While many insurance websites have a wealth of details online, there is always something you need to know. Call and ask.

Do not assume that the cheapest health insurance plans are the ones that will work for you, just because they are cheap. You may end up with insurance that does not cover your specific conditions, or won’t pay for E.R. care. That means, you pay the bills and pay for a policy that does you no good. That makes no sense at all.

Get Affordable Health Insurance Now instead of Being Forced to Get it Later

Act now to get affordable health insurance, before you are mandated to buy it in 2014.

It’s a funny world when the government tells you that you must have health insurance – or else you will be fined. While they appear to mean well and are hoping to have universal access to health insurance for everyone, regardless of their condition(s), people don’t much enjoy being told what to do. They enjoy it even less when being told what to do and what to buy will cost them money they don’t have.
It’s a tough situation for many Americans. Buy health insurance now, or later? Choose to go with the flow, get covered and be safe or pay a yearly fine and save money? That’s a bit of a misleading question, largely because paying a yearly fine for not having health insurance will not mean saving money. On the contrary, not having health insurance will still mean someone will have to pay the doctor’s bills, and that would be you. There is no savings to be had in the scenario.

Come 2014, health care reform says state plans will be in place for everyone and they will be subsidized by the government. One wonders where they will get the money to do that without pillaging the health care system, the military and a variety of other larger programs, but for now, why look a potential gift horse in the mouth? So, based on what the government says, by 2014, absolutely everyone will have a chance to have affordable health insurance.

By hook or by crook, the plan seems to be slowly moving forward. However, as with most legislation, there are scores of people who vehemently oppose it. Many are not insured by choice, and feel it is their right to have health insurance or not, as they see fit. They are adamant that government should not force them into a health insurance plan. There doesn’t appear to be any other option to this conundrum, other than paying a fine every year and if you can pay a fine every year, you have enough money to pay for an affordable health insurance policy.

Despite the fact that the government says the states will have health insurance for everyone, no one really knows if the government health insurance plan will offer sufficient coverage. Then what does someone do? Buy insurance because it is there and they must have it because they don’t want to be fined? This begs the question of why pay for insurance if it does not meet your needs. This is food for thought.
In the final analysis, in order to maintain some control over your own life and health, and not be forced into buying a policy later, start searching for an affordable health insurance plan now. Do your homework. Compare policies. Compare prices. Compare coverage. There are affordable health insurance plans out there, and better you get them now, rather than later.

Health insurance Quotes Offer a Wide Variety of Choices for Good Health Coverage

For good health coverage search for health insurance quotes that properly address your medical care requirements.

It’s funny that when people start to look for health insurance, the first thing they tend to consider is how much it is going to cost them. In reality, they need to first think about why they need health insurance, what medical conditions they need covered and what type of protection they need. If they want security, they need to know what will ensure their security, before going online to find health insurance quotes.
It’s a no brainer that every day people are hurt. Accidents, falls, injuries, sickness and death are part of life, with and without health insurance. With health insurance you are covered and your bills won’t break the bank. Without health insurance, that is another story; one that may land you in bankruptcy court. No one wants to scare anyone here, but the fact is life happens and the very best way to face the uncertain medical future is to find the right health insurance quotes to suit your needs.

No one is suggesting that you get online and find the cheapest health insurance quotes possible, although many do just that. Often it is best to not buy the cheapest health insurance you can find, because what you pay for may not be what you think you are getting. Too many Americans these days do not pay attention to what their health insurance covers, and as a result of this inattention to details, find themselves paying for something they thought was covered in their health insurance, but wasn’t.

Start first with several health insurance quotes and then do some comparisons, never forgetting that you also need to know what is not covered, just as much as what is covered. Cheap does not always mean it will suit your circumstances, so be careful to ask a lot of questions about the policies you are considering.

For instance, before you search for health insurance, determine what you really need. Then consider your budget. If the plan that you really need is a few more dollars, don’t think twice about getting it. It is your health, and it is important, not to mention the fact that you do not want to end up struggling to pay enormous medical bills when you don’t have the money to do so.

How much money do you have to spend? How much wiggle room is there for you? Set a budget, but be prepared to have room to maneuver. Often people find the ideal policy for them, but it is a bit above their set budget. Make adjustments to your budget to get want you want and need, because without it, the other cheaper policies won’t cover you when you need it the most. So, really, why pay for a policy that doesn’t cover you?
